Small Town Second Chance Sweet and Steamy Romance

My husband and I used to ski in Vail, Beaver Creek, and Arrowhead every year with a group of friends. I’d grown up skiing in Western New York State, but these mountains in Colorado—wow! They’re on a whole new level. I’d never seen villages so lovely, mountains so majestic, and ski trails so long—like nothing I’d ever experienced before. Whereas I was fine zipping down double-black-diamonds in NY, in Colorado, blues and greens were more my style—challenging and fun.

Alas, I’m older now, and after skiing and playing soccer for more than 40 years, my knees can no longer take the moguls of Colorado. Instead, we hike in the summertime. Our first hiking trip—seven or eight years ago—we went to Keystone because they had the most hiking trails in the area, plus Dillon Reservoir in the middle, and the historic town of Frisco on the other side. After we got over the initial altitude sickness—our Indiana flat-land bodies were not used to 11,000 feet—we really enjoyed this small mountain town. We went to our first Oktoberfest right in the middle of downtown Keystone and watched the beer stein contest (read more about it in this latest novel), and I was hooked—on the town, on the people, on Colorado. It’s a little slice of heaven right here in the middle of the Rockies of these spectacular United States.

After several more trips, I decided, yes, this would be the perfect setting for my new book—this, my third and final book in the “Better Man” romance series.

If you haven’t checked out the other two books, make sure to give them a gander—you won’t be disappointed—wonderful, rich, charming romances:

All three books can be read as standalones.

More about Lane and the Inventor:

Lane Gravers—an EMT at the ski resort, she flits around to several jobs during the off-season—a yoga studio, a boutique, an organic food store, the local marina. She’s a self-proclaimed “jane-of-all-trades” who loves to meet new people and try new things. But a few years ago, she had a life-altering incident, and she’s finally decided to set down roots and become a better version of herself when she unexpectedly meets a man who is hurting and needs her special form of healing.

Logan Hickory—a loner, introvert, recluse, he barely leaves his house up in the wild mountains above Keystone when he unexpectedly meets the outgoing Lane. How can a man who invents things be so unwilling to let any light come into his own life? Will Lane be able to change that? To show this wonderful, handsome, quiet and caring man all the love he needs and deserves?

How will these two opposites—grumpy and sunshine—find a fresh start together and work through their painful pasts?

Lane and the Inventor—hope you love reading it as much as I loved writing it!
